Jason V. Herring joined Leidos in February 2022 where he works with federal government departments and agencies to solve complex and difficult challenges through innovative technology solutions and capabilities. Mr. Herring comes to Leidos from the FBI where he served for more than 22 years as an FBI Special Agent and Senior Executive. Most recently, Mr. Herring served as the FBI’s Deputy Director for Operations at the Terrorist Screening Center (TSC) where he provided executive leadership for consolidation of the U.S. Government’s multi-agency approach to national security watchlisting and screening.
Prior to his time at TSC, Mr. Herring served in a joint duty assignment at CIA as the Associate Deputy Director for Operations/Community HUMINT. In this role, he was responsible for establishing and implementing HUMINT standards and best practices for the Intelligence Community (IC); integrating the IC’s operational HUMINT capabilities through collaborative planning, targeting, and synchronized operations; and monitoring and evaluating the performance of the HUMINT Enterprise.
From March 2017 to April 2018, Mr. Herring served in another joint duty assignment as the Deputy Assistant Director of National Intelligence for Partner Engagement at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). In this capacity, he served as a Senior Advisor to the DNI on domestic intelligence relationships, and led ODNI engagement and information sharing efforts with private sector partners, State and Local Law Enforcement, and Department of Defense Combatant Commands. From August 2016 to March 2017, Mr. Herring was the acting Assistant Director for the FBI’s Office of Congressional Affairs where he managed the FBI’s relationship with Congress and developed effective working relationships with Congressional leaders and Oversight
Committees.
Mr. Herring began his FBI career in 1999 as a Special Agent in the San Antonio Field Office where he investigated various white collar and drug related crimes. He subsequently served in the Washington Field Office, Counterterrorism Division, Counterintelligence Division, Criminal Investigative Division, Office of the General Counsel, and the Office of Congressional Affairs.
Mr. Herring holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Herring worked for Arthur Andersen LLP in Memphis, Tennessee.
